This book chronicles Bob Matthews and crew as they evolve from a group of disgruntled John Birchers, to Christian Identitarians, to guerrilla fighters, to federal inmates. Matthews – as we all know – wasn’t “lucky” enough to live out the rest of his days in federal custody. His war ended in a blazing inferno on Whidbey Island, just off the coast of Washington State.
While this book is a mainstream publication and obviously not sympathetic to Bob Matthews, David Lane, The Order, or their cause, it’s surprisingly non-bias and objective writing. As we all are painfully aware, actual journalism is a pretty rare commodity these days.
